Identification

Pseudoluperus longulus can be distinguished from other North American flea beetles and leaf beetles by its combination of morphological features that led to its retention in this after extensive revision. Former members of Pseudoluperus have been dispersed to numerous other genera including Scelolyperus, Synetocephalus, Amplioluperus, and others; specimens identified as Pseudoluperus prior to 2005 should be re-evaluated.
