The was established by John Lawrence LeConte in 1873. The type is Xylocrius cribratus LeConte, 1873.

Species Diversity

Only two are currently recognized: Xylocrius agassizii (LeConte, 1861) and Xylocrius cribratus LeConte, 1873. Both were originally described by LeConte.
