Psephenus texanus, the Texas water penny beetle, is a of water penny beetle in the Psephenidae. The species is found in Texas and northeastern Mexico. Like other members of the Psephenus, it is an aquatic with a distinctive flattened, disc-shaped larval form commonly known as a "water penny." The species was described by Brown and Arrington in 1967.
