Chrysophana placida is a of metallic wood-boring beetle in the Buprestidae. The species was originally described as Ancylochira placida by LeConte in 1854 before being transferred to the Chrysophana. It is found in North America, with records from western Canada and the western United States. Like other buprestids, the larvae develop in wood, with the suggesting association with conifers.
