Bidessonotus is a of predaceous diving beetles in the Dytiscidae, first described by Régimbart in 1895. The genus comprises approximately 30 described distributed primarily in the Americas, with records from North America through Central America to northern South America. These small diving beetles inhabit freshwater environments and are members of the tribe Bidessini within the Hydroporinae. The genus was revised taxonomically by Young in 1990, who described numerous new species.
