Identification

Members of Odontellidae are distinguished from other Poduromorpha primarily through detailed chaetotaxy characters, including: number of on antennal segment IV; number and arrangement of hr- on anal valves; ordinary chaetae counts on antennal segment II, , thoracic II-III, abdominal sterna II-III, and tibiotarsi; shape of dental chaetae; and labial chaetotaxy.
