Attinella is a of North in the Salticidae. It was established by Nathan Banks in 1905 with Attinella dorsata as the . The genus was synonymized with Sitticus from 1979 to 2017, when it was reinstated as a senior synonym of Sittiab. It currently contains three recognized species: A. concolor, A. dorsata, and A. juniperi.

The underwent significant revision in 2017 when Prószyński split Sittiab from Sitticus, and Attinella was recognized as the senior synonym of Sittiab. This restored the genus after nearly four decades of synonymy.

Maddison et al. (2020) placed Attinella in subtribe Sitticina, within a clade whose sister is Attulus.
