Pityohyphantes cristatus is a of sheetweb spider in the Linyphiidae, first described by Chamberlin and Ivie in 1942. Two are recognized: P. c. cristatus and P. c. coloradensis. The species occurs in the United States and has been recorded from several Canadian provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. As a member of Linyphiidae, it constructs sheet webs for prey capture.
