  • Brachysomus

    Brachysomus is a genus of weevils in the family Curculionidae, subfamily Entiminae, tribe Sciaphilini. First described by Schönherr in 1823, the genus currently comprises approximately 56 species distributed primarily across the Palaearctic region. The genus was formerly known as Platytarsus (Schoenherr, 1840), now synonymized. Brachysomus species are small to medium-sized broad-nosed weevils characterized by distinctive morphological features including particular arrangements of setae and body sculpturing.

  • Heterischnus huardi

    A Nearctic ichneumon wasp species originally described as Posocentrus huardi by Provancher in 1875. One of three known Nearctic species in the genus Heterischnus, alongside H. bicolorator and H. coloradensis. The species was redescribed in a 2021 taxonomic revision that provided the first key to Nearctic Heterischnus species.

  • Kokkocynips imbricariae

    Banded Bullet Gall Wasp

    Kokkocynips imbricariae is a gall wasp species in the tribe Cynipini, transferred from Dryocosmus to Kokkocynips in 2021 based on molecular and morphological evidence. It induces galls on red oaks (Quercus section Lobatae) and is distributed in the Nearctic region. The species was originally described by Ashmead in 1896.
