    Megalopinus rufipes is a species of rove beetle in the family Staphylinidae, subfamily Megalopsidiinae. It is one of the largest rove beetles, with adults reaching approximately 20 mm in length. It has been recorded from the southeastern United States through Mexico, with some unconfirmed reports from Central and South America.
