The species is known from eastern Canada, with records from Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Québec. Like other members of the genus Dorcatoma, it likely inhabits decaying wood and fungal substrates, though specific ecological details remain poorly documented. The species is rarely encountered, with only three observations recorded in iNaturalist as of the source date.
