Tapinella
(fungal genus), (insect genus - Psocodea)
Tapinella is a genus of fungi in the family Tapinellaceae, order Boletales, containing three inedible species. The genus was established by French mycologist Jean-Edouard Gilbert in 1931. A homonym exists in insects: Tapinella Enderlein, 1908 is a genus of psocids (order Psocodea) in the family Pachytroctidae. The fungal genus is the accepted primary usage in modern taxonomy.
Tapinella undescribed
An undescribed species within the fungal genus Tapinella, a group of ectomycorrhizal or saprotrophic bolete relatives in the family Tapinellaceae. As a formally undescribed taxon, it lacks a published species epithet and has not been characterized in peer-reviewed literature. Species in this genus produce fleshy, often fan-shaped or bracket-like fruiting bodies with porous undersurfaces rather than gills. The existence of this undescribed entity suggests ongoing cryptic diversity within Tapinella that awaits taxonomic resolution.
