Identification
Members of Naera can be recognized by distinctive forewing patterning: ash grey to nearly white ground color, sometimes suffused with ochreous and brown. Key diagnostic features include four brown spots arranged along the , with the first at the base and subsequent spots following in a line slightly departing from the extreme costa; a small brown spot beneath the fold opposite the space between the last two costal spots; and a prominent tuft of raised beneath the fold at about half the wing length, with the portion brown and portion white. Additional tufts occur behind the , positioned opposite each other at the costal and margins. Hindwing and body characters are not described in available sources.
