Holophysis is a of small in the Gelechiidae, first described by Walsingham in 1910. The genus contains nine recognized distributed primarily in the Nearctic region. Species were originally described by several prominent lepidopterists including Walsingham, Meyrick, Clemens, and Walker between 1860 and 1918.
