Protichneumon is a of ichneumonid wasps established by Thomson in 1893. These are known from Europe, Japan, and North America. The genus includes at least two described : P. charlottae Heinrich, 1966 and P. chinensis (Uchida, 1937). As members of Ichneumonidae, they are presumed to be parasitoids of other insects, though specific associations remain poorly documented.
