Taxonomic placement

Spilomenina is placed within the tribe Pemphredonini, which contains -hunting . The subtribe was erected by Menke (1989) to accommodate certain previously classified within Pemphredonini sensu lato. The type genus is Spilomena Shuckard, 1838.
