The family was established by Barber in 1956 and includes the genera Cymoninus, Neoninus, Ninomimus, Ninus, and Paraninus.

Habitat

Found in mountainous regions at elevations ranging from 100–1700 meters, including nature reserves and forested areas. Documented localities include Wanfo Mountain, Weihu Mountain, Erdaobaihe Town, Qinling Railway Station, Foping Nature Reserve, Baishanzu, Wuyanling Nature Reserve, Qingliangfeng Mountain, Shennongjia Nature Reserve, Xingdou Mountain, Jinjigu Valley, Taoyuandong, Shunhuang Mountain, Jianling Nature Reserve, Xinglong District, Mao'er Mountain, Gaoyuan Village, Kuankuoshui Nature Reserve, and Taiping Village.

Behavior
