Micrelytrinae is a of true bugs within the Alydidae, established by Stål in 1868 and based on the type Micrelytra. The subfamily comprises three tribes—Leptocorisini, Micrelytrini, and Noliphini—containing approximately 40 genera distributed across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. New World Micrelytrini have received recent taxonomic attention, including descriptions of new genera and from Ecuador.

Identification
Micrelytrinae can be distinguished from other Alydidae by genitalic and external morphological characters used in tribal and generic keys.
