Prolimnophila is a of crane flies in the Limoniidae, established by Charles Paul Alexander in 1929. The genus contains at least one described , P. areolata. It is found in North America, specifically in Canada and the United States. Like other limoniid crane flies, members of this genus are small to medium-sized with relatively long legs and reduced wing venation compared to Tipulidae.
