Taxonomic history

The identity of P. winnertzii was long misinterpreted until revision of the revealed it was synonymous with P. fugax. The name P. winnertzii auctt. (not Egger, 1862) was applied to specimens now recognized as the distinct P. laszloi.

Reproductive anomaly

An intersex specimen of P. laszloi has been documented and described from Hungary.
