Sobarocephala flava is a of fly in the Clusiidae, first described in 1924 by Axel Leonard Melander and Naomi George Argo. The species belongs to the predominantly New World S. flava species group, though representatives of this group also occur in the Old World. The Sobarocephala has undergone recent taxonomic revision, with 16 new Old World species described in 2014.
