Xenopterella is a of small flies in the Lauxaniidae, established by Malloch in 1926. The genus contains at least two described : Xenopterella obliqua (the type species) and Xenopterella beameri. Lauxaniid flies are generally recognized by their distinctive wing venation and often patterned bodies.
