The contains two subgenera: Ornithoica Rondani, 1878 (20 ) and Lobolepis Maa, 1966 (3 species). Described species include O. unicolor, O. confluenta, O. podicipis, O. beccariina, O. caleconica, O. turdi, O. vicina, O. zamicra, O. rabori, O. bistativa, O. philippinensis, O. stipituri, O. tridens, O. momiyamai, O. simplicis, O. hovana, O. exilis, O. podargi, O. aequisenta, O. aequisenta, O. punctatissima, O. pusilla (subgenus Ornithoica); and O. submicans, O. curvata, O. hirtisternum (subgenus Lobolepis).
