Loxocera is a of rust flies in the Psilidae, first described by Meigen in 1803. The genus occurs primarily in the Palaearctic and northern Oriental realms, with documented in China inhabiting mountainous forest at elevations between 1165–2725 m. A 2023 taxonomic review recognized six species in China, including four newly described species.

Mountainous forest areas at elevations ranging from 1165 m to 2725 m, including locations such as Shennongjia (Hubei), Wuyishan (Fujian), and various forest parks and farms in Shaanxi and Qinghai provinces.
