The was revised in 2022, resulting in the synonymy of Brachydemia Hull with Bryodemina Hull, and the synonymy of Brachydemia latisoma Hull with Brachydemia hedickei (Paramonov). Two new were described: Bryodemina enigmatica from Brazil and Bryodemina ayalai from Venezuela.
