Lepitacnus

Lepitacnus is a genus of rove beetles (Staphylinidae) in the tribe Xantholinini, described by Smetana in 1982. The genus belongs to the diverse subfamily Staphylininae, one of the largest lineages within the rove beetle family. Members of Xantholinini are generally small to medium-sized beetles with characteristic body proportions. Very few observations of Lepitacnus exist in public databases, suggesting it is either rare, poorly sampled, or restricted to specific habitats. The genus appears to have extremely limited documentation beyond its original taxonomic description.
