Melba parvula

Melba parvula is a of -loving in the , first described by LeConte in 1849. It is found in North America, with records spanning eastern and central United States and southern Canada. The species is associated with ant colonies, a characteristic of the myrmecophilous Melba.

Distribution

Eastern and central North America. Recorded from Canada (Ontario) and the United States (Alabama, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia).

Behavior

-loving (myrmecophilous); has been observed in association with ant colonies.
