Species composition

The contains four described : Ipelates kerneggeri Perkovsky, 2005; Ipelates latissimus (Reitter, 1884); Ipelates latus (Mannerheim, 1852); and Ipelates weitshati Perkovsky, 2007. Two species (I. kerneggeri and I. weitshati) were described from Baltic amber, indicating the genus has both extant and fossil representatives.
