Idolus is a of click beetles in the Elateridae, order Coleoptera. The genus was described by Desbrochers des Loges in 1875. Members of this genus are characterized by features typical of Elateridae, including the ability to produce an audible clicking sound through a prosternal process that engages with a mesosternal cavity, allowing the to right itself when flipped onto its back. The genus is part of the diverse click beetle fauna and has been documented primarily from Southeast Asia based on distribution records.
