Woodland and forested areas, including ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) groves and associated woodpiles. At least one has been documented from sandy juniper/pine woodland in Utah.

Collection observations

Danosoma brevicorne was documented from a woodpile at Ponderosa Grove Campground in Kane County, Utah, in mid-June, in an area with ponderosa pine and Coral Pink Sand Dunes tiger beetle (Cicindela albissima) nearby.
