The name Nanodactylus has been applied to both a of insects (Brentidae, Coleoptera) and, in error, appears in some contexts related to reptiles. Leposoma nanodactylus Rodrigues, 1997 is a valid of lizard in the Gymnophthalmidae, but this is a separate with no relation to the insect genus Nanodactylus Blatchley, 1922.
