Taxonomic History

The was established by Marshall in 1951. Three are currently recognized: Nodopus caviceps, Nodopus erichsonii (LeConte, 1852), and Nodopus flavilabris (Say, 1825). The latter two species were originally described in other genera and later transferred to Nodopus.
