Anthocomus is a of soft-bodied beetles in the Melyridae, established by Erichson in 1840. The genus contains approximately 16 described distributed across Europe, North America, and Inner Asia. A taxonomic review of Inner Asian species identified nine species from the region and described one new species, A. kovali, from Yunnan Province, China. The placement of several species within the genus remains under discussion.
