Parorectis is a of tortoise beetles in the Chrysomelidae, established by Spaeth in 1901. The genus contains at least three described : Parorectis callosa, Parorectis rugosa, and Parorectis sublaevis. As members of the Cassidinae, these beetles possess the characteristic domed, tortoise-like body form. The genus is classified within the tribe Cassidini.

Taxonomic history

The was established by German entomologist Franz Spaeth in 1901. Two of the three described (P. callosa and P. rugosa) were originally described by Boheman in 1854 and later transferred to Parorectis.
