Buprestis maculipennis is a metallic wood-boring beetle in the Buprestidae, first described by Gory in 1841. The is native to North America, with records from Canada (Manitoba, Nova Scotia) and the United States. It is one of several species in the Buprestis known for brilliant metallic coloration. The species includes three recognized : B. m. deficiens, B. m. fusiformis, and B. m. maculipennis.
