Definition

A genus of green muscardine fungi characterized by mono- or synnematous conidiophores bearing whorls of phialides. They are pathogenic to invertebrates.

Etymology

Named after the Japanese entomologist, Dr. Nomura.

Example

Nomuraea rileyi is a common fungus that causes mortality in many noctuid populations.
