Definition

A slow-moving, herbivorous mollusk with a spiral shell, found both on land and in water. Not directly related to insects or arachnids but often cohabits similar environments.

Old English 'snæg(e)l', related to Old Norse 'snigill' and Dutch 'snoek'.
