Usage Notes
Japygoidea is contrasted with Campodeoidea, the other major dipluran group (suborder or grade), which has thread-like rather than forceps-like . The superfamily rank is stable, though phylogenetic relationships within remain actively revised. Some authors historically treated Japygoidea as equivalent to the suborder , but current usage restricts Dicellurata to suborder rank with Japygoidea as its only included superfamily.
