A small of diplurans (class , subphylum ) characterized by relatively short, stout that discharge abdominal secretions and by scavenging habits rather than the predatory typical of most diplurans.
Etymology
Example
Unlike the long, forceps-like of japygid diplurans used to capture prey, the cerci of Anajapygidae are abbreviated and function in chemical defense or communication while the animal scavenges decaying organic matter.
