Arhyssus validus is a true in the Rhopalidae, commonly known as the Western Boxelder Bug. The occurs in western North America and parts of Middle America. Like other members of its family, it is a seed-feeding insect that uses to extract nutrients from plants. The species is closely related to the more widely known Boisea trivittata, the Eastern Boxelder Bug, with which it shares ecological similarities.
