Phylloscelis

Phylloscelis is a genus of planthoppers in the family Dictyopharidae. Members of this genus are characterized by their distinctive head morphology, with an elongated, leaf-like or shovel-shaped frons that extends forward from the head. The genus was established by Germar in 1839 and is classified within the tribe Phylloscelini. These insects are part of the diverse Fulgoroidea superfamily, which contains many species with elaborate head modifications.
