Oecleus lyra is a of planthopper in the Cixiidae, described by Kramer in 1977. It belongs to the tribe Oecleini within the Cixiinae. Like other cixiids, it is a member of the superfamily Delphacoidea, a group of true bugs characterized by their plant-sap feeding habits. The species has been documented in Arizona based on distribution records.
